In the revitalizing town of Tsumagoi-cho, Kouta, sole scion of the waning Mikomori shrine, wrestles against his destiny as the community's heir apparent. With dreams of civil service and a life removed from spiritual duties, he finds himself entangled with Erina, an orphaned girl who arrives bearing her younger sister Motoka. Bolstered by the support of childhood confidant Mio and several shrine loyalists, they forge ahead in this newly blended family dynamic. However, when Erina introduces a girl named Mai - claiming her as his betrothed - events spiral out of control, culminating with an unexpected pregnancy ultimatum from Erina herself.
